In short
LI Sports Network produces live and on-demand sports broadcasts on YouTube, video services for teams and athletes, and sponsorship placements inside our broadcasts. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We don't sell personal information, we don't use it for cross-site advertising, and we only share it as needed to deliver the services you ask for.
1. Who we are
LI Sports Network ("LISN," "we," "us," "our") operates lisportsnetwork.com and provides live streaming, video production, recruiting video, sponsorship, and related services for sports leagues, teams, clubs, athletes, and sponsors on Long Island, New York and beyond.
Our mailing address is Long Island, New York. For privacy matters, contact us using the details in Section 16.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information collected automatically when you use the site, and information from third parties.
Information you give us
- Contact and inquiry data. When you submit a form on the site — contact form, sponsorship inquiry, media kit request, partnership application, booking a call — we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), organization, the topic you selected, and the message content.
- Recruiting and athlete data. If you engage our recruiting-video service, we collect the athlete's name, school, graduation year, position, highlight footage references, and any coach or parent contact details needed to deliver the service. For athletes under 18, we collect this from a parent or coach — see Section 8.
- The Highlight Machine inputs. If you use our self-serve highlight tool, we collect the inputs you provide (player name, team, clip selections, email for delivery).
- Business and commercial data. For sponsors and league partners, we may collect billing contacts, purchase-order details, and creative assets (logos, ad copy) you provide for use in broadcasts.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data. IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and timestamps. This is standard web-server log data used for security, performance, and analytics.
- Usage events. With your consent, we record anonymized interaction events (clicks on navigation, video-play starts, downloads of the media kit) to understand how the site is used.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 3 for the cookie categories, names, and controls.
Information from third parties
- Public broadcast data. When we broadcast public sporting events, we receive schedules, rosters, and statistical data from leagues, teams, and partners. This may include first and last names of participants.
- Analytics and advertising platforms. Platforms we use — YouTube, Google Analytics — provide aggregated, anonymized reports about audience and engagement.
3. Cookies and tracking technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels) in three categories:
| Category | Purpose | Consent required |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Required for the site to function: session management, security tokens, form nonces, consent-state storage, rate-limit tracking. | No (exempt) |
| Analytics and performance | Google Analytics 4 (via Google Site Kit). Measures anonymized audience size, page views, referrers, and general engagement. We do not use Analytics for cross-site advertising. | Yes |
| Embedded media | YouTube sets cookies when you play an embedded broadcast. We use privacy-enhanced mode where available, but YouTube's own cookies are governed by Google's policies. | Yes |
The site uses the WP Consent API to record your cookie choices. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your cookies and reloading any page on the site; the consent banner will reappear.
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- Deliver services. Produce broadcasts, deliver recruiting videos, assemble highlight reels, fulfill sponsor placements, and answer your inquiries.
- Communicate with you. Respond to forms, send requested materials (media kits, quotes, schedules), send transactional messages related to services you've engaged, and — only if you ask — send occasional partner updates.
- Improve the site and services. Measure what's working, identify and fix issues, and plan new features based on anonymized usage.
- Protect the site. Detect and block spam, abuse, and attempted fraud using rate limits, honeypots, and the Wordfence security plugin.
- Comply with the law. Meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations, and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
5. How we share your information
We share information only in the limited circumstances listed here:
- Service providers. Vendors that help us run the business — hosting (Kinsta), email delivery (Gmail / WP Mail SMTP), analytics (Google), video hosting (YouTube), content delivery (Amazon CloudFront) — under contracts that restrict their use of data to the services we request.
- Partners delivering a joint service. When a service is delivered with a league or event partner (for example, rosters shared with a league for a broadcast), we share only what is needed for that delivery.
- Legal and safety. If required by subpoena, court order, or law, and to protect our rights, property, users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer to the successor organization, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-contextual behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. In practice:
- Contact form submissions: up to 24 months from the last interaction, then deleted or anonymized.
- Recruiting-video project records: up to 7 years, to support reference requests from the athlete or college coaches.
- Sponsor and partner records: for the duration of the engagement plus 7 years, for accounting and contract purposes.
- Server logs and analytics: up to 26 months in aggregated form, per Google Analytics defaults.
- Published broadcast footage: retained indefinitely as part of LISN's editorial archive (see Section 8 for opt-out).
7. Third-party services
The site and services integrate the following third parties. Each has its own privacy practices:
- YouTube — video hosting, live streaming, and embedded players. See the Google Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Analytics (via Site Kit) — audience analytics. IP anonymization is enabled. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Kinsta — managed WordPress hosting, serving the site from U.S. data centers.
- Amazon Web Services (S3, CloudFront) — media storage and global content delivery.
- Gmail / WP Mail SMTP — transactional email delivery for form notifications and responses.
- Wordfence — security, firewall, and malware scanning for the site.
- Singular.live — on-air graphics and scorebug engine used inside live broadcasts.
8. Broadcasts, likeness, and youth athletes
LISN broadcasts are recorded at public or ticketed sports events and distributed free on YouTube. Broadcasts routinely include footage of players, coaches, officials, and spectators.
Adult participants and spectators
By participating in or attending a public event LISN broadcasts, you acknowledge that you may be filmed as part of the event coverage, and that LISN may use the footage on its YouTube channel, website, highlight clips, and in marketing materials related to the event.
Youth athletes (under 18)
We produce coverage of youth amateur and scholastic sports. When a league, school, or club engages LISN to cover an event involving minors, that organization is responsible for securing any parental/guardian consents required by their registration or participation forms. LISN relies on the host organization's confirmation that required consents are in place.
If a parent or legal guardian of a minor featured in a LISN broadcast would like the footage reviewed, a specific clip removed, or the minor's name withheld from broadcast graphics, submit a request as described in Section 16. We will work in good faith to resolve requests promptly.
Removal requests
Any individual (or their parent/guardian) may request removal of identifiable footage of themselves from our platforms. Include the broadcast date, teams involved, approximate timestamp, and a way to identify you in the clip. Editorial archives of public events may not always be fully removable, but we will evaluate each request.
9. Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including HTTPS throughout the site, hardened WordPress configuration, managed hosting at Kinsta, Wordfence firewall and malware scanning, form nonces and rate limits, and limited access to production systems. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
10. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to fix information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete — request deletion of personal information we hold about you.
- Object or restrict — ask us to stop or limit certain uses of your information.
- Portability — receive the information you've given us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — if processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from any marketing messages using the link in the footer of the message, or by contacting us.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16. We will respond within the time required by applicable law — typically 30 days — and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
11. Regional privacy rights
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the rights described in Section 10 plus the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising them, and the right to designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.
Categories of personal information we have collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP), commercial information (inquiries and services purchased), internet or network activity (browsing and usage), professional or employment-related information (organization, role), and inferences drawn to personalize service delivery.
We do not sell personal information and do not "share" it for cross-contextual behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect or sell personal information of minors under 16.
EU, UK, and EEA residents (GDPR)
LISN is based in the United States and does not actively target the EU, UK, or EEA market. If you access the site from those regions, you have the rights described in Section 10.
Our legal bases for processing: (a) your consent, where required; (b) performance of a contract, when you engage us for services; (c) legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our site and services; and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Other U.S. states
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have the rights described in Section 10 under the conditions specified in their state laws. To exercise them, contact us using Section 16.
12. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers can send "Do Not Track" (DNT) and "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signals. Because there is no industry consensus on DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do respect GPC as a valid request to opt out of sale or share of personal information — though, as noted, we do not sell or share for cross-contextual advertising regardless.
13. Children under 13
The website and online services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Public broadcast footage of youth sporting events may include minors, which is handled under the framework described in Section 8 in coordination with the host league or school. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through a form on this site, contact us and we will delete it.
14. International users
The site is operated in the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may be different from those in your country. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve or as laws change. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, post a prominent notice on the homepage or the consent banner for at least 30 days.
16. Contact and privacy requests
